Best way to generate a grading system for an inspection sheet?

Looking for some help on creating an ASP based web form that tallies points based on answers to questions.
Basically each question has a yes/no dropdown. For each YES selected 3points are tallied, no points for a NO. For each section of the inspection sheet, a grade is to be calculated based on the points tallied for that section.
I have attached the code for the page that I have put together for this so far. I am looking for direction as to the best way to tally the points and calulate the grade.

Well, since this is ASP, you'd just read each of the drop downs values (on the Acceptance2.asp page) and for each one that = "YES"
tally=tally+1

I'm not sure what the question is. Is it a technical how to on the ASP side programming wise?

Here is a basic idea on how to read html POST variables:
http://www.w3schools.com/ASP/showasp.asp?filename=demo_simpleform

Example:
'first thing 0 the counter
tally=0

'do something like this for each item
if Request.Form("ddEyeCatching22")="YES" then
    tally=tally+1
end if

'at the end

Response.write("Tally=" & tally)

I am just looking for some ideas on how to generate the score based on the answers to the questions. I understand how to read POST variables; I am more looking for what you gave me an example of with the IF statements and the tall=tally+1 . That gives me some direction now. Let me mess with it a bit and I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the help so far,
Andrew

Well basically you would just check each one with an IF condition and add to the total.

Ok, i have the 2nd ASP page set up, but tally returns blank, not sure what is up? If I assign tally a value it displays it, but not if I try to assign it a value through the if statements...

nevermind! YES and Yes are 2 different values apparently...

SStoryCommented:
That would be case sensitivity.
try

UCase(Request.Form("ddEyeCatching"))="YES"

I think UCAse is in ASP...it is in most VB and converts the variable value to upper case.

So is it working now?

yes - it seems to be working out - almost done.

Thanks again
