Query Repeating Values?

Is there a way to have a Query only show the first time the value appears. For instance when I'm doing a query on an Invoice I don't want the Header repeating for each Line. I know that I can do this in a report (at least I think so) but I want to create an excel sheet so I use the office link from the query to do this.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Use the query in the Excel spreadsheet as the data source for a pivot table

Try

Select Field1, Field2, Fieldn from TableName group by Field1, Field2, Fieldn

Field1, Field2, Fieldn (are your field names)
TableName is your table name

Are you suggesting a Totals query?

I have tried this and it simply does not work.

I don't know much about Excel. So I don't know what a Pivot table is.

To answer your question - No.  If you have a field in a query that repeats because of variations in accompanying fields, you cannot suppress the repetition.
