Formatting HD

Hey all,

I got nailed with a trojan on my laptop.  I have a new harddrive on there with very little on it atm, so I just want to whipe clean and start over.

I have:
-Lenovo t61
-XP Pro

I had another HD on this laptop that filled up, so i did the Lenovo windows backup disks.  I made the boot disk, and 7 system recover disks.  I then put in the new HD, and put on the original state that my laptop was shipped to me from the factory.  Then I used a use connection to move the files i needed from the old HD to the new one.

Now I just want to format this new drive using the same system recovery disks.  How do i do this?  When i just try to start it up with the startup cd loaded i just get a blue screen and nothing else.

Thanks all

Try other installation disk such as XP installation CD see if it works properly?
If you know the brand name of the hard drive, you can go to the manufacturers website and download a utility to wipe the drive for you.
