Need Mac External HD Suggestion (work with TM)

I just purchased a brand new 24" iMac.

The Time Capsule is a little pricey.  I would like to stay at or under $100-$150 for 1-1.5TB external hd.  Any suggestion of some that are reliable, fast and worth the money? USB 2.0 or Firewire is fine.

Any thoughts?

I'm looking for PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, not random online reviews (which I can find myself.)

I'm happy with the Hitachi 1TB drive.   Nice looks and they've been available at an excellent price from NewEgg.  Already formatted for Macs.    Using this with a MacBook Pro.    One issue w/ having the Mac formatting is I can't share it w/ others in the office on Windows.... but that may not be an issue for you.

G-tech also makes a couple of great external HDs (but anything that uses a Hitachi drive is pretty much on par with the best).
I've purchased several LaCie drives.  Here is a link to one of my favorites:

Newegg and macmall usually have it for less than $100.  There is also a FireWire/eSata version  that is a little more expensive, but I think the USB one works quite well.
