Analysis results: Mailbox Database
Failed to retrieve database information

Details:
Error message is: The network name cannot be found.

Database information:
Selected domain controller: AD1
Selected Exchange server: EX1
Selected storage group: First Storage Group
Selected database: Mailbox Database

Solution:
There was a problem reading information from this file. This error could be caused by multiple issues. The most common reasons for this error are (1) the file is missing. (2) the file has a size of zero bytes. (3) the file is exclusively locked by another application. (4) the file has been damaged.

If the file is missing or damaged, locate another copy of the file. If the file is an Exchange streaming file (.STM file) and it cannot be restored, refer to Eseutil.exe documentation for information about generating a new streaming file. If another application has locked the file, stop that application or restart the server to force the lock to be released.

HI!

Is this a cluster ?

I think first of all you need to fix the hardware issues and later on we can move towards getting the database mounted.

Thanks.
Jawad.

Hi,
First, check with the hardware. If that is fine, then follow the below steps:
1. Open Exchange Management Shell & run the command eseutil /mh "location of database file (.edb)".
2. Check the "Database State". If Clean Shutdown, good, follow this:
* Move all transaction log files to different folder along with .chk file.
* Mount the store.
3. If "Database State" is "Dirty Shutdown", then either restore from prevoius good backup or repair.

Thanks!!!
