50GB of WIndows Installer files

I have used TreeSIze to determine that I have over 50 GB in 4100 Windows Installer files (*.msp) and they have eaten up the available space on the disk.  I assume these are from a long standing problem where Office 2003 updates were repeatedly not successfully installed.  The Office problem has been resolved, but how do I recleaim the lost space?

All of the dusplicated that you have, [Delete] them.
Before you [Delete] them, check the size of all together.

And as climbgunks has stated, if you do not need to go back to a previous state
From a hotfix or SP, then delete all the contents within the folder.

You will most likely have to perform this action on a clean boot.
(Reboot the computer, delete before you run any programs besides those that launch with windows)

Good Luck

Just google for "msizap.exe"
