asked on

choosing the maximum number of bays for the storage box

Hi guyse,

I am looking for a storage enclouser which can be attached to my media server. my range is 1500$ without any disks  and i found this one

 http://www.tynex.com/item.asp?PID=3714&CID=418&menutype=N

First of all , can i attach 2 tera disk in each bay or not in this model?
secondly, can you guyse tell me and advice if i can get better or more capacity with in this amount of money?

i dont mind having two boxes if i can get more space with in this cost.

Also it should support future speeds lets say if we got in future a disk with 3 tera for example.

Thanks in advanced to whom going to replay.

Regards

Hi  Bigschmuh,

thanks for the replay, but it is not clear.

The   SC216 2U racks  will cost arround 1000$ and it has a 24 bays only but if i choosed  this product
http://www.tynex.com/item.asp?PID=3714&CID=418&menutype=N
i will be having  with the same amount of money two devices for 32 bays.

Is there some thing spicial i am not aware about which let me choose the 24 bay one which you recommend  other than taking the one i mentioned.

i am looking more into expandabality, speed and stabality. is your option is better in some part  than the product i mention which i am not aware of . please advice

thanks in advanced
My advice was about going to 2,5" drives bay

SC216 2U rack was an example.

The point is you can deliver more IOPS with 2,5" drives
tThanks
Btw, did you notice the iStarUSA 3U 16-Bay $550 rack was shipped with no PSU ?
thanks man
