Your ASA image has a version number unknown which is not supported by ASDM 6.1(5)
I have successfully updated both the asa image and asdm to 8.0(4) and 6.1(5), respectively, on both an ASA 5505 and 5510 which I can access ASDM on both, but I have a third ADA 5505 here and I simply cannot access ASDM on this device.
I get the "Your ASA image has a version number unknown which is not supported by ASDM 6.1(5)," even though I can confirm that it is booting asa804-k8.bin, like the rest.
Any ideas? I have tried re-uploading the asa image as well as reinstalling the ASDM launcher.

Did you remove the old image completely? I had one that kept booting into the old image no matter what I put in the config. Only way to fix it was to delete the old image completely. It will boot from the first valid image it can find on flash with no boot system command in the config.

I will look into updating the images, but I am still curious as to why it's not working on this device when it is working fine on the others.
