SanDisk flash drive not detected

My 32GB San Disk is not being detected. I tried on several PC's. It shows up in disc management as unallocated, it shows up in device manager as storage with yellow triangle. When I rescanned in disc management it came up after restarting PC, I changed drive letter and tried pulling it out and seeing if it would auto detect and did not. Back to where I started. I even tried to format the drive several times.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What filesystem are you using when formatting?

I am using FAT32. The only thing I can do to make this work is to plug in device, go to device manager, right click uninstall on drive in drives section of device manager then rescan and it will come up. I don't want to have to do this every time.

This sounds more like a driver problem. Does it mount on other PC's when you connect?

I would try reinstalling the U3 software first.

Does this need to go on on PC's that I connect this to or does this add software to the flash drive?

macstifiedCommented:
This adds software to the flashdrive, not the PC.

I just tried, install fails says cannot format drive. Does this sound like defective drive?

If its failing to install that and on multiple PC's, then I would say yes.
