Old Gateway Drivers
I have an old gateway computer and the hard drive failed. I purchased a new hard disk and installed it. It installed fine and I was able to install XP and service pack 2 fine. The problem now is that I cannot find drivers. I went onto Gateway's web site and entered the serial number from the back of the computer, but apparently they no longer have the drivers available for download. I was directed to mpc computers web site to download the drivers and when I went to that site, I got a page cannot be diaplayed. Upon further investigation I found out that mpc computers is out of business. I do not have an internet connection because I do not have NIC drivers. How can I find the drivers?
What is your laptop model?

>> I do not have an internet connection because I do not have NIC drivers. How can I find the drivers? << you use another PC, and download the drivers with it .
then unpack them, and put the drivers on a cd, or usb stick

I was able to find all of the drivers I needed with the Everest Software. The problem that I am having now is that I cannot find a download for the NIC card. The software says that I have a Intel 82801DB ICH4 - LAN Controller with 82562ET/EZ PHY. I searched Intels site and didn't find it and when I googled it, I fould a link to the driver, but that page can no longer be displayed.

I finally found it. Thanks so much. That Everest software is amazing!!!
The Dell Dimension 4550 reportedly uses the same NIC. No guarantees ... but try this driver:
