Changing email address

I am going to change my email address, as I get too much junk mail on my current on. I will continue to use that one when purchasing items on the web etc, but the new one for private use.

How do I go about this? My current address is candkhamilton@..., and the proposed new one is picardy@.... I think that one is already registered with tiscali. I would like to view the picardy emails from my Outlook, but somehow also have access to the other address to check from time to time that no important emails have come in.

Hi,

If the proposed e-mail address is already registered by someone other than you I am afraid you'll need to pick another e-mail name.

In this case you'll need to add another account to your outlook using Tools > Account Settings > New
After you've completed adding the new account you'll need to visit Tools > Options > Mail Setup > Send / Receive > Edit then pick your old account and uncheck "Receive Mail items". So that this account will not be included during automatic mail retrieval.

Another option is to create another folder and direct e-mail from this account to this folder instead of your inbox using Tool > Rules and Alerts > New Rule.

Rule #1, NEVER post your e-mail on the internet. NEVER. Spammers use tools that scan web pages... so you have just ensured that both your current e-mail address and the new one will get (more) spam mail.

In fact it is it was candkhamilton@tisxxx.xx.xx and now it reads only "candkhamilton@..." only : )
