Using Shared Object from different swf files

I'd like to create a shared object through a desktop action script 2 application. First of all - where does the computer save the object exactly? and secondly, is it possible to have access to the same shared object from several different files?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Question 1:  The data for the Local Shared object is stored in the users Application Data...

C:\Documents and Settings\ <username> \Application Data\Adobe\Flash Player\

Question 2:  A Shared Object can only be read by SWFs in the same domain as the originating SWF...  so as long as they are from the same site, then you are good to go...
