Connect two different SBS2003 domains via VPN

I believe I know the answer to this one but . . . .

We have a client who has an SBS 2003 Network. They are merging with another company and wish to join their networks. The other organization has an SBS 2003 network too!

Can I create a trust relationship via a hardware based VPN to allow users to logon in each network?

I am concerned about SBS 2003 not being able to interact with another SBS 2003 Server.

I am thinking that one organization would have to drop their server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
