Migrate Merak to Exchange 2007

To All Experts,

We are currently running another mail server (Merak) as well as our exchange.
a)      Can we configure to run both side by side?
b)      What is the best way to migrate everyone over to exchange?
(all in one go ? or one by one ?)

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Running them side by side isn't a problem. You just need to decide which one is primary and configure it appropriate to send email to the other.

I am not that familiar with Merak, but this is how it would be done if Exchange 2007 was doing the sharing.

As for migration strategy, that really depends on you. I have done both. Big bang is usually favoured, over a long week most often. That stops the user envy of those who have it and those who don't.

Simon.
