MSI installer errors

I am having windows installer problems. Or so I think. I am trying to install our backup software (ca arc serve) on a fresh server 2003 r2 install. I keep getting errors refering to the install package.

Event ID: 10005.
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. The error code is 2381.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

TG Tech. That explanation seems to be my answer, but how can I use those msi commands if the installer is an .exe? The msi installer manual commands require an msi package correct?

The error is caused by permission issues. I would check to see if the Domain Admin account is listed under the local machine Administrators group. If that was the case, check security permissions on the local drives.
