Internet Explorer Java

We currently have a problem accessing our Admin console which is java based. It is machine specific, even if we try a different profile it does not work. Works fine from a different computer. Uninstalled java and deleted the sun directory in Program files and application data.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue.

Here is what may be happening. Your page is returning an HTML file, but your applet thinks it is a Java class.

Every class in Java starts with the following bytes (in hex): CA FE BA BE, which in decimal is 3405691582.

Your page is probably returning an HTML file, which starts with <HTML>. If you take the first 4 characters, <HTM, and convert to decimal, you will get 1011373133, exactly the same number you're getting.

Another possibility is JRE version incompatibility. Maybe your applet was compiled with Java 1.5 and the machine you're using to access it has Java 1.4.

I am using the latest java from java.com. We have two accounts with this provider. Each account has a html then a java login. On one account all works well on the second account when the java applet tries to load it fails.

It worked on Java 6 for a while. The current version is update 13. Can I go back to an older version?

I resolved the issue. The problem was with the firewall. I had to change the policy to allow custom any. Apparently it had to do with website redirection.
