Windows Small Business Server 2008 Forefront & Live One Care

Has anyone had experience uninstalling Forefront and Live one care on a SBS server 2008. I recently installed Symantec Mail Security For MS Exchange 6.0 and would like to uninstall Forefront. I've heard there could be infromation store issues after uninstalling Forefront.

Any suggestions

Thanks

You shouldn't have installed the Symantec product until the previous AV products were removed. That can often cause problems. (I will leave the Symantec bashing for when you have problems). As long as the products are removed using add/remove programs and then the server rebooted correctly I have not seen any problems.

Great - I wish the Symanted Tech would have told that. So I should be able to uninstall the Symantec Mail product and then uninstall Forefront the reinstall Symantec again?

The simple rule is that you shouldn't have two AV products on the same machine. They will often clash and/or cause problems with each other. That "rule" (about two AVs) has been the case since I started in IT 15 years ago, so doesn't say a lot about a tech at an AV vendor.

Remove the Symantec product and reboot.
Then remove the Microsoft products and reboot.

You need to reboot to ensure the hooks are out of the system before installing another.
