Adding a Printer Access Denied Windows 2008 Standard

Wheenever I try to add a networkj printer by IP Address I amgetting access denied.  I can ping the printer as well as access it through a web browser.  Any ideas?

Do not attempt to add a network printer in this way.

Go to Add Printer
Select Local Printer (Not Network Printer)
Create New Port (TCP/IP port with the printers IP)
Now follow the rest of the Wizard.

It has always worked like that. Bit confusing I agree....

I did that originally.  
any solutions on this?

I used share printers on a printer server, do a start, run, \\[computer name] and then simply double click the printer.  Very easy but is not working on our 2K8 Terminal Server.

I'm receiving access is denied.
