I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In two words - you have to install a second server, migrate all mailboxes and other things to it and finally uninstall the first server.

It's really not a complex task: http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/20294/how-do-i-move-exchange-server-to-a-new-server.html

Those are what I followed a while back for a client migration of Exchange 2003.

I have setup a second exchange server (2003). Both servers' settings are identical. I have migrated only my mailbox. I can send to anyone within our organization with no problem. If I send to someone else in another domain I get the following Undeliverable email:

user@domain.com on 6/1/2009 2:22pm
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipients email server. Please contact your system adminstartor.
<tecsysint.com #5.5.0 smtp,553 sorry, tat domian isnt in my list of allowed rcphosts (#5.7.1)>

Oddly enough the receipient gets the email message. Sometimes they get it and soemtimes they dont. but I get the undeliverable message evrytime. Any suggestions?
