What is Mozilla/Ifrefox Keystore type used on cert8.db?

Hello all,

Java supports KeyStore type JKS and PKCS12. The first is used within SUN Keystore and the second format is also supported by Java.

The question is: what is the Keystore type format that Firetox uses for its cert8.db file? Knnowing that would make it possible to import those certs to my application.

Thanks.

think they use a proprietry format, if you need them then export them (from the certs list) in a suitable format to add to your java keystore

Objects,

That is OK. But since that is open source, they might be a Java implementation somewhere to read that file.

Thanks.

there isn't one that I'm aware of, and no real need for one so doubt it exists.

It seems to me that there is a solution, albeit not elegant:

It is here http://finger-in-the-eye.blogspot.com/2007/03/cmo-acceder-al-keystore-de-firefox-con.html

The problem is that you need to load the NSS libraries.

However, looking insider sunpcks11.jar  that there might be a better solution.
