Groupwise default distribution lists

Is there a way to define a default distribution list that every new user gets added to as they are created? I thought their was but I can't find an anywhere to set it in Consoleone. We are using Groupwise 703.

The only thing you can do related to Groupwise while creating the user in eDirectory is assign them to a post office.

A possible way to do what you want:

1. Create an eDirectory group and use it as a GroupWise Distribution List by assigning it to a post office (see , it's in the section on Distribution Lists).

2. Create a Template object in eDirectory that includes membership in the eDirectory group you created, and use that when you create new users.

When you say create a template. Could you step me through that? Not sure where that is.
In ConsoleOne, select the container you want to put the template in. Then choose File | New | Object and select Template from the list. Give it a name, cilck "Define Additional Properties", then click OK.

Fill in the info from there. It's the same as creating a new user but instead it's an object that holds whatever predefined user settings you want, to save time when creating an actual user later on.

When you do create a new User object, one of the options presented is "use template". When you use a template when creating a user, the new user's information will be populated with whatever is in the template - including any eDirectory group memberships, which is what you're after.
