"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try switching the printer off for 10 seconds.

That is the first thing I tired.  I was looking for someone who had a more definitive answer as to what the failure is, I know it is a hardware failure, just which component is the question.  Thank you for the quick guess.
If you call Xerox support they should be able to tell you. The service manuals are not available to the public
This error message usually caused by some kind of electrical problem. The last time I had that error on a printer there was a blown circuit board which a trained xerox tech took 5 hours to find and fix. If it is under warranty I would call them about it, and if it isn't your probably better off buying a new one because it will most likely be cheaper than getting this one fixed.

The xerox phaser's with the wax ink have been notorious for how much they tend to fail, and if you have one I would always suggest extending the service contract.

I have also attatched the service manual which is good for the xerox phaser 8400, 8500, and the 8550.

Thank you for the manual and advise.  I am going to TS the printer and find out what is wrong with it and if I can allocate the parts, I will repair myself.  I will post the problem once I find it so others can benefit.
