accessing heat sink Gateway model# w340ui

I need to open a Gateway model# w340ui to clean the fan and redo the heatsink compound.
Does anyone have instructions on how to open this laptop to do so

I spent some time looking for a specific hardware guide for your machine and came to the same conclusion as stevoskh.  You may be able to find enough information at those links to accomplish your task.  It'd still be nice to find the right manual for the w340ui.

Is there another name or model family on the PC?  Also, if you have the serial number, it might help.  This link shows a list of the notebook user guide familys:

But no w340ui.  You've probably seen all this.

Aside from that there are the links steveoskh gives and here's a couple more I found downloadable service guides at:

Get back with that serial number if you can.

I did find some from gateway that appeared to reference the specific wording w340ui but they were in japanese or chinese.
What is the history on this laptop.  Was it purchased from Gateway in the USA?   How old is it?

Well .. I haven't found the exact model yet, but here's a site that disassembles several Gateway laptops for various reasons and will get you to where you need to clean the heatsink and cpu grease.

I'm going to keep looking for something real specific.  I'm sure it's out there.
Hey ..

Also, I'm sure you've seen this but just in case, here's a link to the Gateway site and info on your PC:

OK ..

At this point, I need to ask what you think about all of this.  By the way, here's an exact link pdf repair manual for the M350:

There is a discussion section in the manual on the motherboard replacement.  I'm sure it will give you the information you need.

So what do you think?

Let me know.
