the cluster resource cannot be moved to another group because other resources are dependent on it

When upgrading from sql 2000 enterprise to sql 2005 enterprise and installing the sql server database services on a cluster service I get an error.  It occurs during the "removing backup files" phase of installing the database services.   The error I get is "  Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup - The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Completing Commit.  The error is The cluster resource cannot be moved to another group because other resources are dependent on it"

I am not sure what needs to occur here in order for the sql cluster to be updated successfully.  Are there some dependencies I need to take offline?  Any help would be appreciated.  Attached is the error message

I am upgrading to sql 2005.  Are there instructions on how to install the database services for sql 2005?  Attached is a screenshot of my current configuration.  Do I need to shut down the node that is not currently active and install the database services on the active node?  Please advise.

Does any of the resources in DIsk1 for SQL have connection to Cluster Group resources.

No I don't think so.  Here is a screen shot of disk group1 and the cluster group.

Try creating a MSDTC for Cluster and also did you verify if the SQL has been upgraded or not ?

v4seasonsAuthor Commented:
It has not been upgraded.  It is still on version 8.0.  It rolls back and never completes the installation.  Looks like I already have a MSDTC connection created.  It will not allow me to create another one.

I am not sure what you are asking me to do.  I tried to create a MSDTC as a new resource in the cluster group and I get the following attached error:

Please advise.

You have a resource in SQLDTC try removing that and then creating a MSDTC in cluster grooup and try to upgrade.
Did you try moving the resources to other node andd try the upgrade ?
