Combobox SetItemData in c#

When I add items to a combobox like so:
 comboBoxMatchesPlayed.Items.Add("Blah Blah");

Can I also do a 'setItemData' for this entry e.g set its data to be either a int value or even a string value.

you see I want to display data in the combo box so users can read it easily but I want to give a corresponding ID to each entry so it can easily access a database table.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

try this

 ListItem lst = new ListItem() ;
            lst.Text = "text";
            lst.Value = "ID";

            DropDownList1.Items.Add(lst);
