Adding a distrubtion group to to a public folder

I have just created a public folder which I would like to give access to a group of users. The group of users are already configured within a distribution group when I try adding the distribution group of users to the permission of the public folder I get the following message

The modified permissions cannot be saved/

Unable to set permission for DL /o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=Helpdesk because it could not be converted to a security group. This most likely is because your system is in a mixed domain

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can't use distribution groups for giving permissions. Use/create a security group.
