Cisco Wirelss Controller config file

Hi Experts,

We have a Cisco 4400 Wireless Controller. I want to upload the config to a tftp server.
Using the GUI how can i find the file name to upload. I jhave looked in the GUI and CLI and can not find the active config file to upload.

In the WLC GUI:
Click the "Commands" drop down, Click "Upload file" in the left hand panel, Select "Configuration" in the file drop down, enter your tftp info, file path, then a file name of your choice.  Click the "Upload" button at the upper right.

File Name UPdate:

I mis-spoke about the file name.  While you can name it anything you want, in order for it to be "usable" it must be either an .aes (for software versions below 4.2) or .xml (for software versions above 4.2).  the file name is the verion of software you are running.  i.e. AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-0-206-0.aes or AS_4402_4_2_55_8_Config.xml

2 WLANS will be no problem.  Here's the configuration guide:

Hi 2PiFL,

Is the config file and the software embedded into the same file AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-0-206-0.aes?

We have a couple of issues.

We are tyring to to tftp our config to a new controllere(the orginal as a bad 2nd port) does the version of software need to be the same on the new controller for the config to work.

I see on the GUI when you upload and download the tftp you can select configuration or code separatley.  We uploaded the config AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-0-206-0.aes  to a tftp server then when we try to download the config to the new controler AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-0-206-0.aes it does not work, it  did not copy over the WLAN clouds.

thanks

I beleive the config file they're talking about is the boot config not the controller config.   The controller config is backed up and restored through the WCS software that you load on a windows or linux box.  did you load this?
