upgrading to larger HD's

I have two servers that need more space. I have purchased larger hd's. I notice when they arrived that they are 10k instead of 15k. Is this a problem?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you installing them into a current raid array? If you are installing all new disks in an array, then no, it does not matter. The only difference will be the access times may be slower, but not by much.

They will have a slightly reduced performance but in my experience there won't be any other issues.
