Run MS Access Runtime Version on a Mac

A friend has an Intel based Mac and would like to run an Access DB application that her Mother wrote for her.  Apparently it comes with the runtime so a full MS Office isn't necessary.

What is the simplest / least expensive way to run a Runtime MS Access application?

You could also look at openoffice.  http://www.openoffice.org
OpenOffice is free. and runs Natively on the Mac OS
I am not sure that Open Office is the answer. It does not in fact run MS Access applications or databases. To my understanding, all it allows you to do is to read the tables in an MS Access database. It would not run the MS Access queries, macros or scripts.
