Quickbooks 2009 Error -6177, 0
I have a client who is getting locked out of their QB data every couple of days. Error is -6177, 0 when they open the file. It happens on multiple files, some may work one day while others don't.
Problem is resolved by deleting the .ND file for the specific company that won't open.
Problem is that this fix only last a day or two before problem occurs again.
We are running the QB Server DB Manager on a Windows 2003 Server.
I've applied the latest .NET 3.5.1 SP.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

Thanks for your response.
I already did everything listed in your first paragraph.
Quickbooks support seems to think this issue is fixed by SR7. I've install SR7 on all workstations and the server and I'm waiting to see if things remain stable.

SR7 did not fix the issue.
I'm going to try all of the suggestions in stinae's post.

After deleting the .ND file, there are a few more things you should do.
Configure the QuickBooks Database Server Manager:
Click the Start button and choose Programs > QuickBooks > QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
Click the Scan Folders tab.
Click the Add Folder button.
Select the folder that contains QuickBooks company files and click OK. If you don't know where files are stored, select the entire disk.
(Optional) Click the Add Folder button again to add additional folders, and then click OK.
Click the Scan button. The display will indicate which folders are being scanned.
After the scan is complete, click Close.
Ensure the QBDataServiceUserXX user has full access to the folder where the company file is stored. For detailed instructions refer to:
Setting access permissions for QuickBooks in Microsoft Windows XP
Setting access permissions for QuickBooks in Microsoft Windows Vista
Try opening the company file on the computer where the error occurred.
If you still have problems try:
1) Update your program to the most current release on each workstation and on the server.
2) Turn off hosting on all workstations that do not store the company file.
3) If QuickBooks is installed on the server, toggle hosting off and on, and then open the company file using a local (not mapped) hard drive.
If you need help following any of the steps listed above, let me know and good luck.
