The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)

WinXP-SP3

Two applications, Autodesk Design Review 2008 and Autodesk DWF Viewer 7 were installed, but neither would launch. As soon as you tried to execute either one, a program error occurred.

We removed both applications using Windows Add/Remove programs

We downloaded the latest version of Design Review (2010), and installed along
with Autodesk DWG Trueview 2010.

When we try to launch Design Review 2010 now, we get the same program error
(DWG Trueview works fine).

Since it's the same error on all three programs, it's seems to be Windows related.

The error is attached as an image.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi

Did you try right-clicking on the application and choose "run as administrator"  ?

Sorry. Failed to mention that it doesn't matter what user is logged in, including administrator, same results. Thanks.

It looks like Autodesk has released a service pack to address this.
