Word 2007 not allowing drag and drop

Word 2007 is not allowing me to drag and drop text.  Within Advanced Options, "Allow text to be dragged and dropped" IS checked.  I'm using XP

Maybe run Diagnostics?

Did you perform all suggestions in the link I posted?

Especially:

Run Regedit, browse to the Word data key, select it and press delete. Word will recreate a new key when it is next started.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number\Word\Data
