how to decode .dat files from zeo.com

Zeo makes a nifty sleep monitor which writes data in a proprietary .dat format.  I (and a lot of others) would like to be able to decode our own data and use in our own spreadsheets and other applications.  Is there any software out there that could do this, or perhaps some tools that would help one to develop such software.

This is a nifty little program I came across some time back that can extract and create .DAT files. Plain text readers just come up with alot of gibberish characters when I open .DAT files with them to try and understand how they work.

It might not help much, but its something to start with.

I downloaded the file.
(It is an executable file for Windows, cannot be used on Mac)
It did not work for me to open the zeosleep.dat file
Also, I was unable to delete the file from Windows Vista.  That was worrisome. Kept saying I need permission even though I was administrator and had all the default permissions in the properties/security tab.
