Cannot display PHP page (XCart) on Apache 2.2 (Windows XP) - Connection Reset

Hi,

I think I may have either my PHP or Security permissions set up incorrectly in Apache. I'm having trouble accessing some PHP pages from an XCART installation. If I install a basic page to show phpinfo then that works OK. If I then copy the XCart files into the folder I can't access some of the PHP pages from the install (I get connection reset/cannot display page). However, if I use ZZEE PHP GUI to access the PHP pages directly (i..e bypass apache) then it seems to work, so I need to find out what Apache's problem is, but I don't know how to track it down. Nothing obvious in the error log, and I can't put any debug info in the XCart PHP Code (as it's using an encrypted form of it.)

Anyone any ideas? The folks at XCart said it's my server setup - and that the only solution was for them to host it for me (no thanks!).

I'm not hugely proficient with Apache and PHP (I come from a .Net background) so this is likely to be something fairly basic.
<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Ok - I've removed everything and installed EasyPHP, and voila everything works. No idea what I screwed up - I guess it was some sort of permissions problem!
