@ Onanar :
I am  unable to open your docx file, b/c i am using word 2000. Any how have you completely uninstalled Mysql and rebooted the system.
If yes, please check MYSQL-Service, in Win-xp, if its still showing, please remove it and try to reinstall.

I tried in many ways, but I could not finish the installation.. some times I am getting "windows service couuld not be started" and some times "unable to connect user root throguh localhost with (Password="yes")". Now I have decided to uninstall again.

can you please tell me what are the steps i need to do while installing.
here are my steps
1-> down load my sql community server from the below link
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/
2-> down load the software Windows MSI installer for mysql server.
3-> Run the exe file in my system
these are the steps I have done so far..
I am getting the error only after giving the password for my root.

what error its showing ? The defaul root password is blank ( i mean null), During installation its again asking current password ? After uninstallation and refresh installation it should not ask for current password, it should only ask for new password and confirmation.

Can you tell me win xp version/edition and service pack ? or try to install it on another m/c with os win'xp prof. service pack >=2

it's 1->windows..
If you have already Mysql lower ver. installed on this system, then you will have to uninstall it, so its better to install it on a fresh PC.

my sql error number 2003
can not connect to sql server on '192.168.2.100'(10061)"

But when i check the ping, it is pinging.

I have used mysql query browser and administrator to connect to this one

Have you downloaded the latest version of mysql query browser /administrator from mysql site ?
If yes, pl, check the following :

userId, i.e. root (is default)
password i.e. blank (is default)
port i.e. 3306 (is default)

Pl.refer the below link and read the author's comment as under :

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Databases/Mysql/Q_21368770.html

I fixed the problem. From the connection screen I pressed CTRL and pressed 'Skip'. Then from Administrator I stopped the MySQL service and started the service whithin MySQL Administrator. Then I open the Administrator again it worked. I didn't know it was that easy.

Try to do as advised above .

@onanar : Your uninstallation procedure is right, but pl. check win service there should not be mysql service/instance running after uninstall.

Any how have you tried the method menttioned in below link :

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Databases/Mysql/Q_21368770.html

Method is :

I fixed the problem. From the connection screen I pressed CTRL and pressed 'Skip'. Then from Administrator I stopped the MySQL service and started the service whithin MySQL Administrator. Then I open the Administrator again it worked. I didn't know it was that easy.
