cisco ips 4240

I 'd like to know the risks, if any, in using a pair of interfaces on my cisco ips 4240 (in-line) in front of my firewall and activating the other pair to secure my dmz segment which is typically behind the firewall from internal worms and other malicious activities.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

According to me, there are no risks involved. If your organisation has all that money, it is worth the attempt. You will be securing both the end points of your network. Cisco 4240 is a good product too.
