Hi,

I am trying to install the SCCM 2007 client on PCs from an alternate source (another server) but there seems to be a problem accessing the files. The permissions on the folder have Everyone with full access.

I have a batch file as a startup script for the computer when it boots up with the following command line:

\\SVR01\sccmclient\XYZclient\ccmsetup.exe /noservice /source:\\SVR01\SCCMClient\XYZClient\i386 SMSSITECODE=XYZ FSP=SCCMSERVER.HQ.MYDOM.LOCAL SMSSLP=SCCMSERVER.HQ.MYDOM.LOCAL ccmenablelogging=true ccmloglevel=0 smsfullremotetools=1

Here is the log file - ccmsetup.log.

Looks like it doesn't have access to

\\SVR01\SCCMClient\XYZClient\i386

which is one level below \\SVR01\SCCMClient\XYZClient\ which it does have access to.

You might want to check the NTFS permissions on i386 and make sure Everyone has Read rights to the files within.

The i386 folder has the access rghts of Everyone with Read.

Is there anything to do with the fact that this is running in a computer startup script and it is running as "SYSTEM" ? A lot ofthe other references to this issue have this LOG[Failed to access source file (3) but I have (2).

I don't believe so.  SCCM always installs the client under the SYSTEM account if you use the Advanced Client Push.  I take it you actually verified that all the files are indeed in that folder and that if you look at the ACL of ccmsetup.cab that the Users or Everyone group(s) has read access?

Supposedly Error Code 2 means "File not found", so it doesn't seem to see that file there...

Aleinss,

As it turned out I checked the log file again and looked at the path it was looking at and found that it was the CAB file that was missing from that location in the folder and I believe it was becasue of the /i386 that was added. I think CCMSETUP appends the i386 on its own and we don't need to add it.

I changed the parameters for the /source and it works now!

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
