laptop communicating with different vlans

Hi,

I have a Cisco 3750 and I have added the main vlan from the trunked switch so i can get on the network. Let's call it vlan 800. I plan on also adding another vlan so I can add oracle to it and another vlan for something else. Now I have vlan 800, 801 (oracle), 802 (etc). I now plug in a laptop into the configured 3750. Do I have to do anything else to the vlans or the switch so the laptop will be able to access the network and oracle since it is in a separate vlan or do I need to do something else. I hope it makes sense.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this is already configured on a 3750 (it won't hurt if it is) but you'll need to enable IP routing.

You will also need to create VLAN interfaces on the 3750 for each of those VLANs with IP addresses. Finally, you will need to configure the default gateway for each host with the IP address of the appropriate VLAN interface.

ip routing
int vlan 800
 ip address 192.168.80.1 255.255.255.0
 no shut
int vlan 801
 ip address 192.168.81.1 255.255.255.0
 no shut
int vlan 802
 ip address 192.168.82.1 255.255.255.0
 no shut

so let's say the ip address 192.168.82.1 will be used as the dg for the oracle machine..correct? Once this is done the bal once connected to the switch should be able to hit the machines on the different vlans..correct? Thanks much.
