pdidominic, we probably need to define some terms here: some people have suggested 'frameworks' which are not frameworks, but IDEs and some people have suggested neral frameworks which are not particular to desktop development. For a genuine desktop development framework, and it's really a design framework, you should probably be looking at stuff based directly on, or derived from, JSR 296
