Cannot update antivirus

Norton internet security was removed, avg installed. Could not up date avg, or access the internet. I did a system restore, i can access the internet. But I cannot update AVG, I removed avg and installed Avast, cannot update, Avast reports that my firewall does not allow, Only have windows firewall. I cannot update java, I think that this has something to do with Norton internet security. Cannot update java, Malwarebytes.

try disabling the firewall to see if the programs will update. if they can you need to configure the firewall to unblock internet access for the particular software you are using

can you access the internet ok?

how many antiviruses do you have installed? any more than 1 will create all sorts of problems

None now . As I said I can access the internet after i did a system restore.

so you currently have no antivirus installed and java still won't update?
try reinstalling norton -
i have a feeling norton has changed your settings somewhere, they've done it to me before after uninstalling to give me the same issue and when i reinstalled symantec all was well again

I would reinstall it if I had it. Mabe My question should have been Is How to manually uninstall Norton Internet security.

then the link i just posted is definitely what you need - symantec removal tool does exactly what it says on the tin
