Depending on what "security" issues you may be looking at this should not create any openings or issues to the outside world.  Assuming you have standard practices in place for your users/network and some security devices (firewall, spam filter, AV, etc) you should be good.  at least from a Windows perspective, if you have further concerns please provide further details.
