setup cannot copy the file fxsshare.chm - when I try to install a fresh copy of xphome

Ive tried several diff cds.

This is either a problem with the hard drive or CD drive. Most likely the hard drive.

You may need to do a low level format to completely blank the hard drive and remove any type of corruption.

Try a program called Derek's Boot and Nuke (DBAN). You can also try the format option (not the quick one) during the xp install. It will take a bit, but should help.

If that still doesn't work, you may have a bad hard drive.  Try downloading the ultimate boot cd from www.ultimatebootcd.com and running some of the hard drive diagnostics on it.

Tried different memory and another hdd....

Its looking like the cd rom

Will swap that next
