AIX C++ Compiler Version 9

Dear All,

I need to install AIX C++ Compiler Version 9 into the server. Could I check how and where can I download this compiler? wat's the fileset that need to be install?

Because I have the fileset below but customer said that's not a C++ compiler they need.

xlC.aix50.rte              9.0.0.1        COMMITTED       XL C/C++ Runtime for AIX 5.2
xlC.cpp                  9.0.0.0            COMMITTED      C for AIX Preprocessor
xlC.msg.en_US.cpp      9.0.0.0            COMMITTED      C for AIX Preprocessor
xlC.msg.en_US.rte      9.0.0.1            COMMITTED      XL C/C++ Runtime
xlC.rte                  9.0.0.1            COMMITTED      XL C/C++ Runtime

Thanks in advanced.

Best Regards,
Terrence

Hi again,
the IBM xlC/xlC++ compiler is presently at its version 10!
This compiler is unfortunately not free, nor does it come with AIX. You'll have to purchase it separately.
What's installed on your system, according to what you posted, is only the runtime environment and the preprocessor.
There is a 60 day trial available from IBM (click "Trial"):
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/awdtools/xlcpp/aix/
I'm afraid that if it has to be version 9 you will need to contact IBM.
How about gcc? Not an option for you?
Anyway, it's here:

 Should you have further questions here, please let me know!

Hi woolmilkporc,

Thanks for your strong support. However, we already purchased the C++ license. But CD is not provided.

Hence, I wondering whether I can download the C++ compiler from the website or not?

Thank you very much.

If you purchased it, you should have been granted access to the Tivoli Passport Advantage website
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/howtobuy/passportadvantage/pao_customers.htm
Log in using your IBM ID and click "Software Download and Media Access"  -> "Download Finder"
You will be presented all your entitled downloads.
Choose your software VisualAge C++ and go!

Ok,
I'll append the list.
Note that the product as distributed by IBM contains, besides VisualAge C and C++
- the xlC/C++ runtime - already installed according to your post
- the vacpp preprocessor - used by vaC instead of xlC.cpp
- xlsmp components - probably already installed, too
- xlmass - Mathematical Acceleration Subsystem libraries
- memdbg - User Heap/Memory Debug Toolkit
- message and manual filesets in several languages
Good luck!
