I recently upgraded my cisco ips 4240 box from 5.1 to 7.0 (E3), this also upgraded the sdm to IDM 7.0. I log in using https on firefox, if i try it on IE8, it crashes within a short while. The problem now is I can log on to the home page (dashboard) but i can 't navigate to the monitor, configuration or any other page. The error is, "Rdep thread timeout "at 77% Progress at attempting to load config from sensor. Now i'm stuck with Good old Console(CLI) . Anyone got ideas how i can get out of this???

This is a known issue with 4240 & other devices. Work arounds range from rebooting the sensor to upgrading to the latest version. You seem to have an updated version, I'd suggest that you downgrade Internet Explorer to 7. IE 8 has some added security features which might be triggering this abnormal behaviour. Also, the list of supported browsers do not include IE8 as of now.
