FileMaker Pro 8.5 - container not sizing properly

I have a DB that is using a container field with 2 reps to display either red or green in a total field depending on the value. This is all working great, but when I made the container, and the red/green boxes, even though they were all the exact same size as the field, when I drop the box into the container it readjusts and looks smaller than the field. I have attached a screen shot showing the container field, the calculaton field and the 2 boxes all being exact same size, but you can see in the browse mode that the colored box is not filling the field fully. I tried making the colored boxes larger, and reinserting them into the contain, but it still makes the colored box smaller once dropped in. Any ideas?

fields graphic settings set to what?
also allowing a 1 pixel border inside the field is normal, so if the field = image height, it will reduce the image by 2 pixels, and the width accordingly, and that is obviously 5 or 6 pixels. set the field graphic properties to crop/center/center.
