I have a Cisco phone system for a client using a UC520 system. It has 4 pots coming in on the 4 fxo ports. He has an answering service he would like to be able to forward to when he leaves the office. The 4 analog incoming lines are in a hunt group. In order for this to work either the first analog line from att thats in a hunt group needs to be forwarded to his answering service using the *72 command or the UC520 system needs to be able to send all incoming calls out to a pstn number externally. Not sure how to do this. Either I need to assign an extension i can dial to hit the fxo port thats has the main analog line and then dial *72 and the number or i need the uc520 to forward all calls to his forwarding service 91866XXXXXXX.
so far the only idea i have is to create a ephone-dn give it an extension and do a call forward all on that extension to his answering service number. but i think it would be better if i can setup an extension to dial to hit the main analog line so i can dial *72 then the forwarding number....problem is when i dial 9 then * it just starts beeping at me???
so im thinking of doing something like this
ephone-dn  200
 number 1234
 description DN to answering service
 call-forward all 91866XXXXXXX
and then having him use call forward all to ext 1234
any ideas thoughts etc? i would rather bypass the uc520 all together for his night answering service.

i figured it out....i had to create a dial peer so when i dialed *99 it connected me to the fxo port with the main line so i could dial *72
