How can I disable the scroll wheel on a HTC 6500 Windows Mobile Device???

Hi,

Following the replacement of my director's PDA from a HTC 6500 to a HTC Touch Pro 2, I can confidently recommend the Touch Pro 2 as a great PDA/phone.

However, we want to keep the 6500 going as it isn't that old and can still be useful when going abroad and not wanting to take the new phone.

The trouble is that the scroll wheel on the side seems to be stuck on and is continuously scrolling through every menu and screen, highly annoying!

Rather than paying to get it fixed, is there a utility/registry setting I can apply to it to disable the scroll wheel??

I've tried searching the registry for 'scroll wheel', 'scrollwheel', 'enablescrollwheel' but nothing seems to be returned.

Any ideas??

All comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

not sure it works, but try

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys]

it contains a number of subkeys for hardware buttons. Check each one to see if it contains something for Up/Dn

That worked perfectly, amended several keys and it worked fine.

Thanks!!
