I have two personal laptop, one is having MAC and another OpenSolaris.
How can I assign IPv6 address to both and start communicating between them using a straight through cable.
I just want to play with it to get a feel. Thanks!

In Mac OS:

[SystemPreferences -> Network->Advanced
Under Configure IPv6, select Manually and input your static ipv6 addres]

In OpenSolaris I'm not quiet sure.. But here's the help from their website (http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/opensolaris_2008/SYSADV3/html/ipv6-config-tasks-6.html) and this too (http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/opensolaris_2008/SYSADV3/html/ipv6-config-tasks-64.html#ipv6-config-tasks-119)

And here you can find information about IPv6: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6)

one more thing.. for connecting two computers directly (without using a switch in between them) you need a cross over cable.. not a straight through one.

Hope this helps.. :)
