Fatal Error: Unable to create an instance of a required object: FileProxy

Hi
I have a computer running microsoft windows XP with service pack 3 on my PC and keep receiving this error message when browsing to find a file location on my hard drive using windows explorer:

FATAL ERROR
Unable to create an instance of a required object: FileProxy

what is causing this and how can I correct this issue please ?

If that doesn't work, you might try using Autoruns (from Sysinternals) and seeing if there are any obviously weird shell extensions installed.

Thanks I could not find out what was causing the problems so I just rolled back PC to an earlier date and the error has gone.
