As far as I know there's no way to do this.  You can pass data via parameters to a subreport but not in the other direction.  If you need the same data in the main report, you'll need to repeat the dataset there...

I want to parse just single values back to the sub report, so I can do some totaling.

subreport has 3 rows, but main reports has 1

e.g need to get total value from all 4

Possible?

If it's the subreport that should show the total of those 4 records you could pass the values from the main report to the subreport using parameters.  But, if it's only 4 records, why would you want to make it complicated?  Unless query performance is an issue, why not just create a dataset that fetches those 4 records at once?
